How To Stay Fit This Festive Season

16 Dec 2021

We have just celebrated Diwali, the biggest Indian Festival and guess what, it is just the beginning of the long Festive season. With the long list of festivals comes the big worry for all the health conscious people.

What Shall I do, how can I maintain My Diet & Progress?

What about my training plans?

Why can’t I find a way to keep a balance of everything?

Look no further, here are a few easy ways to Stay fit this festive season.

1: Intermittent Fasting:

This is a no brainer. The best way to maintain your overall calorie intake. Going without food for 14-16 hours will not only force your body to burn more fats but it also improves self-control and endurance.

By limiting your feeding window and shortening one meal in the day, you save yourself some calories which can be used by binging on the delicious festive food.

2: Train Regularly:

This is the biggest mistake people make. No matter what your plans for the day are, stick with your Training routine. If you cannot hit the gym, then chose a 30-40 mins home or outdoor workout/cardio activity. In theory, you can always stick with your workout routine unless you are having to work for 16-18 hours a day. This will keep your energy levels high and lift your mood. Make you look good and you will go out shining.

3: Avoid Snacking unhealthy food:

You chose what really matters, enjoying the full buffet of delicious food or filling your stomach with some garbage snacks. Keeping space for a proper meal lets you have fun and enjoy the meals and be completely satisfied leaving no space for another cheat post the occasion.

4: Mind your Portion:

Knowing when to stop is always a good thing. You should be in control of things. Like I always say, “eat to live or live to eat?”. Keeping a check on the amount of food you eat will help avoid any unnecessary stomach problems and will also make sure you do not go on a calorie surplus.

5: Stay hydrated:

Drinking plenty of water is always a god idea. It is better than gulping couple of sugar soda bottles.

6: Stay away from empty calories:

Empty calories are the major villain here. They do not fill your stomach, but still loads your body with tons of calories still leaving you hungry for a ton more.

Avoid too much of fried, oily, and sugary food and drinks.Stuff yourself rather with delicious traditional whole foods.

7: No Guilt:

Yes, this is a guilt free festival binging. Do not be harsh on yourself feeling guilty about a few days on overeating. You cannot lose all the weight in one day and the same way you will not gain weight just by a single day or two or binge eating. The Trick is to get back on track once the occasion in over. Follow your routine as usual. Make memories, share the happiness and spread positivity.

Remember: It’s all about creating Healthy Habits.
